Managing A Bankroll

A poker bankroll is a poker players best tool. It is a lump sum of money that has been set aside simply for playing poker. By having a reasonable bankroll and using bankroll management tactics, poker players can avoid ever losing all of it. For instance, some professionals have had months of losses, but still have a significant bankroll to play with.

Bankroll Guidance

One important thing to ensure is that each buy in is no more than 5% of your current bankroll. This means you need to lose 20 times in a row to break a bank roll. That being said, tournament players should put aside around 100 buy ins. Keeping to these strict bankroll guidelines will avoid you ever going broke.
